2nd. By a transaction in Latin, stated more at the next degree, made on May 9, 1418, from which it follows that noble Pierre Raymond d'Hautpoul, then a minor, was the son of the late nobleman Arnaud-Raymond d'Hautpoul, & nephew of noble Auger de Hautpoul; that said noble Auger was the brother of the said noble Arnaud-Raymond, & that said nobles Arnaud-Raymond & Auger were son of the late noble Guillaume-Pierre de Hautpoul, lord of the place of Auxilhon; it was agreed that all the property that the late noble Guillaume-Pierre owned in the places of Auxilhon, La Bruguiere, Hautpoul, & elsewhere in any The sénéchaussée of Toulouse, would be & remain said noble Pierre-Raymond. This transaction is produced in original.

That Arnaud Raymond d'Hautpoul, damoiseau, lord of Auxilhon, tenth ancestor of the producing, was, as we have just seen, son of noble Guillaume-Pierre de Hautpoul, "of Altopullo", damoiseau, lord of Auxilhon, Felines, Ventajou, Cassagnoles, conseigneur of Hautpoul, & of (following domestic memories) Ermessende de Lodève; which is still proven among other acts,

1°. By the marriage contract in Latin of noble Arnaud-Raymond d'Hautpoul, where he is said son of noble man Guillaume-Pierre "de Altopullo", damoiseau, lord of the places of Auxilhon, Hautpoul & Ventajou to the diocese of Lavaur; this contract, dated November 6, 1394, received by Pierre Pontili, royal notary, is produced in original.

2nd. By a transaction in Latin, stated further in the following degree, of December 2, 1396, between noble Guillaume-Pierre d'Hautpoul, lord of Auxilhon, & noble & powerful man Hugues, lord of Arpajon & vicomte de Lautrec; in this act, received by Jean Defonté, notary of Toulouse, produced in original, is inserted a will made on October 18, 1391, by noble Finé de Brassac, second wife of said noble Guillaume-Pierre d'Hautpoul, de Altopullo, damoiseau, his son.

Which proof completes the regulations; but that abundantly Mr. the Marquis d'Hautpoul has proven by authentic titles that said Guillaume-Pierre d'Hautpoul, damoiseau, was the son of another nobleman Arnaud-Raymond d'Hautpoul, damoiseau, whose marriage contract with Berangere, mother of said Guillaume-Pierre, daughter of Pilefort, "Pilisfortis", damoiseau, lord of Ventajou, Felines & Cassagnoles, is dated February 13, 1337, & that said other Arnaud-Raymond had for father & noble mother Pierre-Raymond d'Hautpoul, damoiseau, lord of Auxilhon, & other Berangere his wife; that he was the son of another Guillaume-Pierre d'Hautpoul, damoiseau, lord & baron of Hautpoul & d'Auxilhon, & of lady Garsende ; that said Guillaume-Pierre had for father Izarn d'Hautpoul, damoiseau, lord of Auxilhon, & conseigner of Hautpoul; that said Izarn was the son of Pierre-Raymond d'Hautpoul, third of the name, which had for father another Guillaume-Pierre, lord of Hautpoul, & Richelde for mere; that said Guillaume-Pierre was the son of Bernard-Raymond d'Hautpoul & d'Adalaïs, lord of Hautpoul & Aupoullois; that said Bernard-Raymond was the son of Pierre-Raymond d'Hautpoul, & this one of another Pierre-Raymond d'Hautpoul, knight, who in 1095, joined, as well as Raymond de l'Isle-Jourdain & Roger de Mirepoix, Raymond Count of Toulouse, for the first crusade, after having made 960, a peace treaty with the most qualified lords of the province; said treaty, reported by Doat, on the original titles deposited in the King's library, tom. 1 folio 157, no. 165, is delivered by collation of M. Bejot, custody of the manuscripts of this library.

That to satisfy the provisions of the regulations, all the acts set out above were each separately, until 1337, by Mr. d'Hozier de Serigny, judge-arms of the Nobility of France, who says in his certificate of April 30, 1781 that he could have traced the said evidence back several centuries beyond 1337.

That with regard to maternal proof, it is established according to the regulations by the acts produced for the first degree of the paternal side; that moreover, Vernon's house is sufficiently known in the States, so that it is not necessary to demand other pieces.

That according to this report & the examination of said evidence, in which the most distinguished alliances are found, the Commissioners believed that they had to propose to the States to admit Mr. Marquis d'Hautpoul to their assembly, when he had obtained the necessary letters patent for the sisis & erection of his barony.

That the Sieur de La Fage proceeded for his part in the city of Toulouse, on July 17, 1781, to the secret investigation of the nobility of Mr. the Marquis d'Hautpoul, composed of six witnesses, who all attest to the seniority & services of this house.

That finally, Mr. d'Hautpoul, to satisfy the deliberation of the States of January 4, 1781, delivered the deed of sale granted in his favor on May 17 of the said year by very high & very powerful lady Marie de Montesquieu de Roquefort his wife of the lands of Bugarach & Sougragne; the said deed received & sent by Pugens, notary of Toulouse; & that he reports the letters patent dated July 1781, registered with the parliament of Toulouse on September 9, by which His Majesty ordered that the title of barony or right of entry to the States, above sitting on the land of Aureville, will be & remain transported & sitting in the future on those of Saint-Just, Bugarach & Sougragne, located in the diocese of Alet, under the name of the barony of Hautpoul.

That having thus been fully satisfied with everything that had been prescribed by the previous deliberation of the States, the assembly will not hesitate to admit the title of Mr. d'Hautpoul, by ordering the registration of the letters-patents in their registry, & to receive it himself as baron of the said place.

Which having been thus deliberated, Mr. the Marquis d'Hautpoul was introduced to the assembly by one of the syndics-generals, & Monsignor the Archbishop of Toulouse, President, gave him knowledge of this deliberation; after which, having got on two knees, he took the oath on the Holy Gospels, in the hands of Mondit Lord the President; & then having taken his place, he thanked the assembly.
